DJ Chuck’s SetupWhat a beautiful day, what a beautiful venue, what a beautiful couple! The day was September 8, 2007, the place was the stunning Pismo Beach Golf Course. The weather was absolutely perfect for Julie and Bobby. They had family and friends there to witness their vows at the beach. Ashley Landry was the event coordinator and made sure that everything was absolutely perfect. The setting at the Pismo Beach Golf Course is incredible to say the least!

Ashley Landry and her assistantThe bar area was setup just outside the 4000 square foot tent, the guests were enjoying the day from both inside and outside the reception. This was an exceptionally nice arrangement because of the gorgeous weather. The Staff at the Pismo Beach Golf Club were extremely helpful to the Bride and Groom as well as friends and familyand also including myself DJ Chuck Pierce. Julie went the extra mile to make sure that I had the very latest music list for the reception, Their photographer, George was great to work with.

Saturday I received a phone call from Steve the brother of Angelica a frantic bride without a DJ.  The Bride and Groom realized this after the ceremony was over and the reception was about to begin. Angelica asked Steve to see if he could find a DJ willing to save the day. Steve called me and I said yes, but before I got off the phone with Steve I had asked him to get a piece of paper to get some information about the day like Bride and Grooms names First Dance Song, Father Daughter Song and any other special songs along with some kind of timeline I loaded my van got into my tux and away I went to the Atascadero Lake Pavilion . I arrived in around 30 minutes and started playing music. It was the first time in all my years of Djing that I have ever experienced this last minute situation. I new I had an early gig on Sunday morning to start at 6am but this is my life. Just to let you know this DJ was from out of the area. I know anyone from Central Coast Wedding Professionals would have done the same thing and it makes me appreciate who we are.

Dj Jerry Craig w/ Bride

Hello,
I’m DJ Jerry Craig and music is my life. I started my entertainment career at the age of eight when I sang at my sister’s wedding. I knew then I wanted to be an entertainer. I learned to play guitar, piano, drums, and finely bass guitar. In high school I was in several rock bands and the high school choir and sang bass.
I joined the navy in 1974 and my first duty station was the USS Oriskany an aircraft carrier stationed in Alameda, California. I volunteered to help run the ships radio station that was fun duty. I started doing parties and weddings on the side with a couple of turntables and got the bug to perform live again. In 1980 I had gotten out of the service and went to Cuesta College and took courses in radio and television, and started Djing at a Club called The Graduate. I did Country nights, Top 40 nights, Big Chill night (they were only once every 6 months) new wave nights and Minor Madness nights. It’s pretty incredible what that taught me, to have around 400-500 people dancing and having fun was a high I loved. Also around 1983 I started Djing at a club called Grover’s Cantina which didn’t last very long before they closed. In 1984 I was DJ’ing at Tortilla Flats doing Wednesday night Country night and some occasional other nights when I wasn’t working at The Grad. In 1997 Kevin Kennedy opened Friend’s Restaurant and Bar. I was the Entertainment Manager booking bands and we would do KJUG Karaoke on Wednesdays, Open Mic on Thursdays, and Friday and Saturday live bands and I would play the breaks. I worked that gig for over 2 years until we closed. In 2000 I picked up Djing at The Cliffs Restaurant and Hotel for about a year. I had Dr Dre show up played some of his music and got in trouble for it even if he requested the songs. That Club lasted around a year. Five years ago I started working for Roger at Big Bubba’s Bar-B-Q during The California Midstate Fair. I do the Club Bubba’s after the fair which is all Top 40 dance music and 2 years ago inside the fair grounds we did karaoke night every night of the fair. Well it’s been a fun ride and weddings and special events are now my life. I would love to be apart of yours

Thanks Again
Dj Jerry Craig

On Saturday Night at the Blacklake Golf Resort in Nipomo I was invited to Play for the Nipomo Chamber of Commerce by my long time friend Michael Leon. I met Mike in 1980 or so at Cuesta College in music class. Mike’s business is burke2leon development.
Oh back to the night the chamber’s theme was called “Get’er Done in 2008 with the new President Sean Suhuur of Sure Mortgage Solutions and the Master of Ceremonies was Cathy Cachu of Rabobank.
There was an award given for female youth of the Year Julissa Rosales, male youth of the year Ben Penningroth and Citizen of the year Clyde Cruise because of their community service. The Chamber thanked their major sponsors Trilogy Central Coast and ConocoPhillips, and also thanked there President’s Circle Sponsors CHC Community Health Centers, Rabobank and The Woodlands.
The reason for this event also was to install the new officers to there posts. I would like to thank the Nipomo Chamber and Mike Leon of burke2leon development for the chance to work for them. DJ Jerry Craig

The Fabulous Fall Bridal Show sponsored by Central Coast Bride Magazine’s and with over 150 venders was a huge success with over 300 brides in attendance. From the time the doors opened at noon many brides jumped in feet first to everything from Apparel and Jewelry to Video Production and everything in between. I was next to Club O2 that offers a mobile Oxygen Bar. They were great and kept me going, a real party novelty.
On the other side of my booth was Ashley from Pismo Beach Golf. She really is wonderful to work with and a great at keeping the event flowing. Most brides just came by and took my information so they could get educated on who was out there and available for there day. I had a bride come by and asked what is the most important thing to remember about hiring a Disc Jockey. I told her that experience is a must, someone who has back up equipment just incase. Liability insurance is important if having an event at most venue’s because most require it. Check the Disc Jockey Companies references. Who will show up the day of the event? Will you be surprised, did they tell you from the start who is going to be your DJ. Is the personality of the DJ compatible with you? You will have to work with this person at your wedding you don’t want to have to stress. A lot of my favorite vender’s were there like Photography by Marcy and Michael. Jack Hutchinson Videography and Taylor Rentals. The Cakery did a cake dive again for some fabulous prizes. Central Coast Wedding Center was there showing off beautiful dresses along with The Bridal Boutique of Atascadero with some great tuxedos and other apparel. I got to meet with the owners of High Ridge Manor, which are Sunset Magazines most beautiful view for a wedding. I got to talk to Erin McClellan of Sprigs N Things who is a designer of floral and much more. I met Ann Johnson of Heirlooms Shadow Box Company that takes your wedding dress so you can hang it on your wall and look at it every day instead of leaving in a closet or a box. What a great concept. Across from my booth was Mama’s Meatball Catering with Lasagna and Manicotti yum yum good. Did I mention Fluer De Liz was there. I did there first wedding there last month and what a gorgeous venue. They have an old style barn with a bar that so cool, a 4 bedroom and 4 bathrooms Victorian home, and also for wintertime a banquet room that holds up to 150 people I think. Check out the website to see it for yourself if your looking for a north county venue. You know I could keep going on but just call me so I can tell you. Thanks for visiting my site Congratulations.

It was a long time coming for the completion of the castle for Eagle Castle Winery but it was worth the wait. What an amazing storybook place that was built as a winery and wonderful event center for the Paso Robles area that will have people begging to book many of their functions at this venue. There were lots of chamber members and some new faces I hadn’t recognized, but for an event like this I wouldn’t have expected any less. The wine was flowing and chilly and fritos that was made at The Culinary Arts  hit the spot. It was good on this evening that just earlier had finished off with a small rainstorm and the evening presented itself to be so beautiful.
I handed our Chamber CEO Mike Gibson the mic so he could start the festivities by introducing our hosts from Eagle Castle Winery Gary and Mary Lou Stemper. Gary talked about how long it had been putting this project together and how happy he was now that it was complete and he was ready to party. He also said they would be doing wedding’s parties and hosting other events all year long. He talked about their upcoming events for Harvest Weekend and they were going to have a Casablanca (Movie) Night on Friday October 19th and see and tour the castle on Saturday with free wine tastings that day. On Sunday a brunch to finish off the weekend and send people home wanting more.
Mike also recognized Joey Scolari for his new supermarket and gave the store the beautification of the month award. What a difference that building makes in that spot where Lucky’s used to stand.
Don Campbell came up to make presentations from the Ag Tour. He handed out donations for efforts in the community, like all the coffee and snacks from the Pioneer Museum for those waiting for the busses going on the AG tour.
The Ag Tour also gave SLO County Ag Task Force a check for ($1000.00) and Ag in the classroom a check for ($5000.00) to help children realize our food doesn’t just come from Scolari’s Supermarket.
Cheryl Carnevali Programs & Events Coordinator told everyone about the Successful business seminar at the Paso Robles Ballroom at The Paso Robles Inn
on October 15th and The Woman In Business networking fair on October 17th at the new La Bellaserra hotel and suites.
Well if you missed this one you really won’t want to miss the November Mixer at Bianchi Winery 3380 Branch Road Paso Robles, CA 93446 I’ll see you there
